Communication and Network Security – Fourth CISSP Objective
The fourth CISSP objective is divided further into 3 sub objectives and makes up 14% of the exam questions in CISSP.
- You should be able to design a secure network architecture using network segmentation techniques, converged protocols, internet protocol, non-internet protocols and TCP/IP models. Software-defined-network SDN, wireless networking and using cryptography to communicate is also covered under this objective.
- Securing components, including physical facilities, hardwares, servers, server rooms, data center, modems, switches, wireless access points, routers, fiber optics, wired/wireless media and mobile devices are part of it. You should also be able to apply network access control devices e.g., firewalls, IPS, IDS, proxies and end-point security techniques.
- The third and last objective of Communication and Network Security requires you to build secure channel communications including data and voice or any other multi-media technologies.
